Haydock Independents

After careful thought, I have made the decision to step away from the Green Party and stand as an Independent councillor for Haydock.

I will be running under the PolitePolitics banner as part of the Haydock Independents. This sits within the same family as the Newton-le-Willows Independents, with whom I have worked closely in the past.

This by-election has come about because the Reform councillor elected in May stepped down after just six days in office. Haydock deserves committed, reliable representation from someone who knows the ward, understands the issues, and is ready to get back to work for residents.

I have had the privilege of serving this ward for the last five years, and I only lost my seat on 7 May by a few hundred votes. I know how much this community matters, and I know there is still more to do.

This is a positive step and a perfect opportunity to continue putting local residents first. The Haydock Independents and Newton-le-Willows Independents share the same core values: that the people of our towns should always come before any national political party agenda.

As an Independent, I will have the freedom to stand up for Haydock, to vote in the way I believe is right for local people, and to work constructively with others where it benefits our communities.

If you put your trust back in me as an Independent, I will work hard every day to put you first, speak up for Haydock, and deliver real improvements for local residents.
